Our Story
“Baunji was a truly special dog who will always be the love of my life.”
Baunji Strong was established shortly after Billy Bauer’s beloved canine, Baunji, lost his fight against osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone. Given a few short months to live, Baunji astounded the experts over the course of the next year and nine months with an “amazing quality of life” conventional medicine had not seen before. It is Baunji’s legacy of Strength, Determination, and a Remarkable Will to Live – grounded in Faith and Hope – that beats strongly in Billy’s heart. It is a legacy that continues to fuel his fight against canine cancer and is the basis for the Baunji Strong.
After hearing those dreadful words, “YOUR PET HAS CANCER”, many pet parents lose hope. We see it in their face; we hear it in their voice. The following two questions are “What treatments are available?” and “How can we afford this?”
Our focus in the fight against canine cancer is one of positive messaging while advocating for pet parents, equipping them with the same tools and resources utilized successfully in Baunji’s journey.
We aim to accomplish our goals by:
1. Restoring HOPE for those fighting this disease with a support system built specifically for and around them throughout their medical journey. Hope Knows No Limits.
2. ENCOURAGING pet parents to “think outside the box” when advocating for their pet, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to make INFORMED decisions, whether considering conventional, alternative, or holistic therapies. (Nutritional guidance to fight the disease metabolically is one example.)
